Search Entries
A name, location, or other term entered into a search box passes to the third-party provider that operates the tool. Guilford County Released Inmates does not keep or log those search terms on its own systems.
Messages
If you send an email or contact message, the information in it is retained as needed to respond. It is not shared outside the organization unless a legal duty requires disclosure.
Automatic Technical Data
Standard web systems may record technical data when a page loads. This can include:
- Internet Protocol address;
- browser name and version;
- device type and operating system;
- pages viewed and time spent;
- the referring page, when supplied; and
- visit dates and timestamps.
Cookies
Cookies may be used to understand site use and support page functions. Browser controls can reject or remove them, although some features may then behave differently.
How Data Is Used
Collected information supports limited operational needs:
- keeping pages available and responsive;
- sending search requests to the selected partner;
- learning which content visitors use;
- detecting and repairing technical faults; and
- displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests.
Other Websites
Links lead to GCSO and NCDAC sources, court and federal portals, public release records, statutes, and outside search tools. Once a visitor leaves this domain, the destination’s privacy policy controls. Some advertising providers may use their own technology to follow activity across sites for interest-based ads. That processing occurs on their systems.
Recipients of Information
Personal information is not sold. It may be available to a limited set of service recipients:
- search partners that handle a submitted query;
- analytics providers that measure site use;
- advertising networks that deliver ads; and
- law enforcement or government bodies acting under a valid legal order.
Reasonable Security Measures
Standard administrative and technical practices are used to protect information. No internet-connected service is fully secure, however. Guilford County Released Inmates cannot promise that data will never be lost, exposed, intercepted, or misused.
Adults Only
The service is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. A parent or guardian who believes a minor submitted data may use the Contacts page to request review and deletion.
Your Privacy Choices
Subject to applicable law and the limits of the data held, a visitor may ask for a copy of personal data, seek correction of an error, request deletion, or object to certain processing. Browser settings can also manage cookies. Requests should give enough detail to locate the relevant message or record without adding unrelated sensitive information.
Notice Changes
This privacy notice may be revised as services or practices change. A new version takes effect when posted here with an updated effective date.
